Khalilah Yasmin, is a writer of music lyrics, short stories/poetry, and has been writing for as long as she could remember. Dating back to pre-school years. As of 2004, is a published author of “Esoteric Calligraphy”, a collection of story poetry. Yasmin, also a freelance model, uses the arts in all forms as a way of self expression. Currently seeking an agent so that she may conquer her book writing dreams. Yasmin also writes journalism articles locally.

Hello, and welcome to my website. It’s still under construction right now, and will have a lot of surprises added soon. A tid bit about me. I’m an artist, which means I passionately create. I write to inspire. I’ve recently realized my LIFE’S PURPOSE, which is to do just that. And not just with writing, but with life experiences and struggles that have shown others that there is something bigger and greater than us out there if we have faith. I’m also a domestic abusive speaker and survivor.
The pieces I write come from my imagination as well as combining situations I’ve been through and seen others go through. I call my poetry, “Story-Poetry”, for each piece walks you through a specific detailed journey. I’m also working on a collection of short stories and Novel. Please stay tuned in the coming months as I grow as a writer, the Gift of Word that God gave me.

* I use to write & perform at Spices in Chicago (birth of “Love Jones” as Ted Witcher, the writer/director, was a poet there) & created, hosted, promoted an open mic, feature poet, & slam called WORDS on TAP Poetry Slam @ the Woodlawn Tap (Haiku are my favorite)
